"Hiked the road on the way up to see what snow conditions looked like. Caught the crater rim trail over to the summit. Some snow on the trail, but decided to take the main trail back down to the trailhead. Enough snow that someone unfamiliar with the trail could wander off track, but not enough to be a nuisance. I did just fine with boots and poles." — calipidder • Jun 17, 2023
"Great day on the trail. Left Bend , drove down to Newberry. Been here for geology field trips, but not to hike. Did the 4 mile out and back. Excellent views of everything. Awesome top views of the obsidian lava flows. " — puddlepirate • Jul 3, 2020
