"Day hike from Glacier Lodge. We had two “young guns” with us to carry the ropes; one of the benefits of being older. I did this in poor form because I did not tag Mt Jepson while I was there, but I had the worst altitude sickness. I guess I’ve spent too much time in the low lands as of late. While we brought ropes, we didn’t use them once. We found the ridge traverse to be the most difficult part of the climb due to the large amount of objective hazard. No fish in Elinor Lake. This will be my last major hike until my daughter is born in late November." — seancasserly • Oct 2, 2022
"Another difficult north face traverse with Tommey. We attempted to sight the traverse using pictures but found a myriad of exposed (and scary) options. The correct route is to go to the last mini pinnacle as the ridge is dropping down to the notch to Gandalf (marked by a large cairn), climb over the pinnacle, and then descend what looks like a scary green lichen covered open book. Plenty of good foot and hand holds gets you down to the ramp 20' below after which the path is straight forward. Again, well over an hour wasted following bad pictures and poorly ducked routes. https://www.flickr.com/photos/becht/albums/72157671766074352" — tombecht • Aug 13, 2016
