"Also called Wedding Cake Hill on AllTrails! The summit is easily accessible via the goldmine trail and goes through a use trail where you have to jump the barbwire fence separating the AZ Trust Land and Superstition Wilderness (correct me if i'm wrong here!). After jumping over the fence, follow a trail of cairns that leads you up to the summit with great surrounding views. Whilst at the top, I witnessed a rescue helicopter looking for someone by the Superstition Ridgeline. Intrigued, I watched on to see if I could spot people to no avail. However the helicopter did end up spotting me and flew towards me and started to circle my location. I had to walk around and start hiking back down since it was the only way I could signal that I was okay and not the person they were looking for. They flew back out and over the ridgeline where I lost track of the helicopter. When I got back down to goldmine trail I bumped into another hiker where he stopped me to ask if I had seen a "crazy guy up that hill" because "the helicopter flew around him". "My brother, son, and I were initially going to do the Apache Junction highpoint, but we saw this and decided to go for it instead. I carried my son on my shoulders for most of the off trail portion, but he climbed a little himself close to the top.
