"Parked at the end of Ladera Vista Drive and began hiking. The route follows dirt roads all the way. At a trail junction at about 1.5 miles in, turn right and follow the road to the high point on the ridge, which is Oak Mountain. A benchmark and register are waiting there. A round trip hike would be about 4.8 miles, but I extended it to two other high points. I took the road to a prominent point at the end of the ridge to the SW (Peak 2640, which added another 0.8 miles R/T). Next, I took a right at the aforementioned trail junction and climbed nearby Peak 2764 (adding 1.4 miles R/T). " — MikeTeeples • Jan 16, 2022
"Beautiful family hike up from the Glen Oaks neighborhood in Temecula Wine Country. We cruised along a fire road the whole way. Saw tracks for squirrel, rabbit, skunk, racoon, deer, bobcat, coyote, and most significantly...mountain lion. And they were fresh. There's a lot of wildlife out there, folks. There are at least a half-dozen old surveyor's marks and monuments on the peak. Great view of Mt. San Antonio, San Gorgonio, San Jacinto, and Mount Palomar. Truly a great hike for escaping the crowds and getting a wonderful view. " — benjineer • Jan 20, 2019
