"Extraordinary bang for our buck on this loop hike. 360 degree views on the sea, lakes, peaks and typical Lofoten fishing villages. Thanks to a Belgian family we even spotted 3 moose roaming the peat bogs. We came back with pounds of cloudberries and a big smile on our face. When approaching the summit from the east, the fixed rope can easily be avoided by heading west from the ridge using the use trail, and then summiting from the South." — danishclimber • Jul 28, 2022
"Day 6 of Lofoten ski touring. Another storm day. Bailed on higher objectives twice due to strong winds. Not the finale we’d have liked, but overall a spectacular week of skiing. " — scott • Apr 2, 2022
"Day 4 of Lofoten ski touring. The classic "Big G", this was an amazing day out. Coming off of a few days of limitless pow and zero people, we knew to expect company on this iconic route. But wow, this was like a ski resort, with skinning teams from every country headed to different slopes and couloirs in all directions. After Chris put in a masterwork skin track up to the ridge, we bombed down some steep blower a few times before heading for the true summit. The last few skiers trickled down as we transitioned for the final frontpointing up to the top. One of the most epic summit panos I've ever seen with a complex mix of jagged peaks, islands, fjords, and ocean. Given the firm conditions we opted to downclimb vs ski from the summit. Good call -- once back on skis I took a few turns on the hardpack and my ski went shooting off tomahawking out of sight. Such good conditions, this will go down as one of the best ski touring days of all time." — scott • Mar 31, 2022
"day 3 of Lofoten ski touring. Amazing day skiing blower pow in the north facing chute (see photo with red line). Falsk Stauren a great perch with stellar views. Did a great loop back all the way back to the van. " — scott • Mar 30, 2022
"Day 1 of Lofoten ski touring. Lucked out with fresh snow after 3 weeks of rain. A mix of pow and rain crust made for good-not-great skiing. But whoa, this place is incredible. Limitless ski objectives. Many lifetimes of exploring. Rundtind is a terrific summit with views to the ocean on both sides of the Lofoten peninsula. Excited for the rest of the week!" — scott • Mar 28, 2022
