"Did a Semi-Pemi Loop backpack from the Lincoln Woods Trailhead up the Ossetian Trail and along the AT. Camped at Liberty Springs continued along the AT to Garfield summit and then down the Franconia Brook Trail to camp at 13 Falls then back down the Lincoln Woods trail. Nine summits in total with 26 miles and 6,800 feet of elevation gain. A three day trip" — Zardoz • Sep 6, 2023

"Wanted a fun hike to celebrate my birthday. What could be better than a trail called Skookumchuck?! I convinced my hiking buddy to join me, and we headed up to North Lafayette. [Possibly slightly beyond... but it's kind of hard to tell up there... especially when totally surrounded by a cloud] It was misty and atmospheric, the trail straightforward and welcoming, and the clouds cleared just long enough for us to get some good views from Garfield Ridge of mountains speckled with autumn colors." — gooner • Oct 3, 2020

"Perfectly sunny day on the drive up, so up the Skookumchuck Trail we went...right into the clouds. Luckily, we got some views into the Pemi Wilderness at the trail junction back to the parking lot on our way off the ridge." — HikeLikeMike • Jul 29, 2018

"We went up the Falling Waters trail to Little Haystack and on to Mt Lincoln and Mt Lafayette on the Franconia Ridge trail, from there, stayed on the AT to Garfield Ridge trail and camped at Garfield pond. The next morning we ascended Mt Garfield and came down Garfield trail minus one toenail and plus a few new blisters. Great hike otherwise. We had gorgeous weather and views on Sunday, but it rained overnight and was foggy, windy and and had no good views on Monday. " — Hufflepuff • Aug 25, 2013

"Decided to add some mileage and some elevation gain in preparation for a hike we're doing in a couple of weeks. Started out quite foggy and windy with the Franconia Ridge 'socked in', but by the time we got to the Ridge the fog had lifted." — markst-john • Aug 10, 2013
