Out getting North Beacon and Bear mtns for the month of December. Nice sunny day where I saw folks wearing shorts and T-shirts to others with insulated jackets on. On the calendar it was the 1st of December but weather wise it felt more like late October. With all the snow and ice gone the trails are back to mud and puddles.

Hey Nimblefoot, is there a specific grid that you follow for your monthly summits within the Hudson Valley? Can't seem to find one online.

I just made a list of peaks that I usually hike in the Valley. Started with peaks right along the river then I added the South Taconics for a total of 37 peaks. Scott put together a similar list for the Hudson Highland Peak Challenge.

I’m very curious about the “Hudson Highlands” peaks. I’ve been looking at the mountains in terms of geological differences to come up with a more accurate list. It’s a real pain haha! Care to share your list?

Oops! Yeah it’s just a random list with no concern of local geology. Basically it’s the list on this site, NY HH peak challenge minus Fingerboard and Black mtns. Added Frog Hill from Black Rock Forest; East mtn, Round Hill and Shenandoah from Fahnestock SP; Brace, S.Brace, Frissell, Round mtn, Ct HP and Alander from South Taconics and Schunnemunk for a total of 37.
