"On our recent trip up Nigel Peak, there was some fresh snow above the first ridge. This was not a problem until the steeper section below the summit, where it felt a bit more sketchy as we slowly worked our way up the slope near the glacier with ice axes in hand." — geoffhardy • Aug 28, 2021
"Minimal snow crossing on Nigel, scrambled around the glacier. Scree slog up was painful, but we started at 5am and I feel like i slept walked through most of it. Quick fun coming down. Wilcox required a little route finding, but getting off route just meant fun scrambling. great views from both peaks on a clear day." — ivo • Sep 5, 2020
"As part of a 7 Kane weekend bender and 2 Kane long weekend Sunday. Nigel - Wilcox. 7.5 hrs 1600m 19km. Left Calgary at 5:30am. At campground at 9am. 250m up the trail spooked a bear in tight quarters. Retreated to main campground and went up Wilcox Pass trail. Once up high traversed over to Nigel and up the steep slog. Then up the foreshortened talus to the ridge. Ridge is really sweet with a big glacier up there. Step was free of snow and was on top by noon and met 3 others from Edmonton who had bivied at the col. Then rapid descent and over to Wilcox along the trail via the lookout. Wilcox was trail until near the top where it gets a little spicy traversing on ledge features to the top for 3pm. Then retreat to the Wilcox Pass and back to the car by 4:30pm. Back to Lake Louise for a big dinner and off to Yoho for a 5 Kane Monday.
