"This was the second of three peaks we hiked on 6/30, the first being Granite Chief and the last being Lyon. The summit block was fun and easy scrambling, but the hill I had to get up before that was hell: super steep and slippery soil. If I had to do it again, I'd try staying close to the rocks (higher) rather than trying to bushwhack and be in the plants/dirt. " — kaylam87 • Jun 30, 2018

"Hiked Granite Chief, Needle Peak, and Lyons Peak in one day. There is a clear trail to Granite Chief and it's off trail to Needle and Lyons Peaks. After summiting Lyons Peak we headed (bushwacked) south to connect onto the Tevis Cup Trail. Saw two black bears. Same hiking stats as Granite Chief. " — runningvegan • Jun 30, 2018
