"Took the Petroglyphs trail from Sloan Canyon visitor center to the back side of Mystic Mountain and went up. Then down to the saddle and up to High Topper. Beautiful hike and even saw a herd of big horn sheep. " — maggielynn • Feb 19, 2023

"Headed out on this beautiful day to hike to the top of Mystic! From the Sloan Canyon parking lot, I headed up the Cowboy Trail, past Disappointment Knoll and High Topper Mountain, and headed West, away from the petroglyphs. When I got close enough to Mystic, I headed off trail and up to the small saddle to the left of the summit, in the first picture. From there I headed up to the summit to the right. It wasn't too difficult a hike, but had to pick my way through rocks and brush. " — GMan • Nov 29, 2020

"12.29.19.....Canine Crag, Feline Fang, Ecru and Mystic Peaks. Scampering to and from a 4 peak trek in Sloan Canyon w/Harlan. 20.20 miles, 3,700’ gain, 8:21hrs. I am a bit under the weather so I didn’t worry about pace. “Relentless forward progress” was my strategy. I extracted every molecule of joy out of the day, basking in the glorious satisfaction of hard work on the trails and up to the mountain tops. Harlan Stockman invited me to this outing and planned to test ropes. He said it may not be too interesting so I had no pressure or worry. I thought I would be hanging out and watching his methods. He eventually broke the news to me that I too would be summiting these peaks. I wasn’t sure I wanted to fail at something new when I’m currently at my limit of unfinished summit projects. Luckily I was able to follow him up every one for the win. They were so spectacular and challenging. I enjoyed every second. You know it’s going to be exciting when the peak/crag you are about to climb has the bones of a majestic big horn sheep scattered below it. Eeek!
