"Began the hike at the Gartstin Trailhead in Palm Springs. Before reaching Cahuilla Peak, the Wildhorse Trail intersected. At that point, I started the looping portion of the hike. The first peak climbed was Wildhorse Peak followed by Murray Hill, then finally Cahuilla Peak. I added a little bit of mileage and elevation by including the Berns Trail on the way to Cahuilla. It's been two decades since the last time on Murray Peak, so I was way overdue to be back." — MikeTeeples • Mar 19, 2022
"Beautiful day for a hike! The weather was warm and sunny, and the high peaks of the San Jacinto Mountains had a nice covering of fresh snow. I started from Frank Bogart Trail, and took the other trails to the summit. Amazing views!" — Mojavewanderer • Mar 6, 2022
"I started at the Frank Bogert Trailhead. Then I saw 2 signs about the trailhead. Then I saw a sign about bighorn sheep. Then I saw a big cairn. Then I saw a washout after a downhill. There was a detour around the washout. Then I saw a cool arrow. Then there was a view of the water tanks. Then we entered the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa National Monument. The actual sign only says "no dogs", so the sign got stolen. Then we saw a palm oasis in the distance. Then we saw a barrel cactus that looked like a classic Phonix logo. Then we saw a bare cactus. Then I saw what I named FGWW Saddle. Then there was a very switchbacky section. Then we ascended a peak I called Wildhorse Peak. The views from Wildhorse Peak were great, not really good like Murray Hill. Then I reached a junction that was had a cool sign. Then after that I got my first glimps of Murray Hill. Then I saw Murray Saddle. Then I saw the open-mouth cactus. Then the summit has some benches, a benchmark, and a few summit blocks. The views were super cool, I could also see all the way to the Mexican border and the Salton Sea. I also could see to into the valley near Dunn Road and the Art Smith Trail. Then I saw the San Jacinto Mou..." — lcnguyen • Dec 27, 2021
"March 21, 2020. Hiked from Bogart Trailhead to Murray Hill then to Cahuilla Peak. There are well-defined trails the entire way, if you look on AllTrails it may look like there are not trails and that you have to bushwack, but all of these trails are well used and established.
