Last Day of a short break in the area, so small walk before driving home. From the Car park at Muncaster castle carpark, we walked up the A595 a short distance, then up a bridleway that ascended steadily past fields, a small lake and a small woodland. Then out onto the open hillside, where we walked up to the rocky summit which had a cairn. By the summit, some amateur radio enthusiasts had erected 2 radio masts and were talking to people all over the world. Good views all around of the coast and Lake District peaks. We then walked on to the 2nd summit, which by our GPS and altimeter was a metre lower. We then descended into the lower areas to circumnavigate the ridge, which was wet in places and resulted in a boot full of water. We stopped at Ross's Camp, which despite its neolithic appearance is of Victorian origin 1883. We then followed a good path back to our start point.
