Trail ascends from parking lot on route 26 across from the bethel transfer station. Runs along the brook at one point ascends through more forest until south cliffs are reached. From here you can see bethel and the androscroggin river flowing through it. Trail then continues up through some more woods until the "north ledge" marked by a cairn. Trail immediately starts descending back to parking lot. Nice three hour round trip hike lunch at the top!
