We stayed 2 days at Whitney Portal campground and made short hikes. We stayed one day at Trail Camp and had gorgeous weather. We left Trail Camp at 4:30 AM and reached the summit at 8:00 AM. Few fellow hikers were present. We enjoyed the views and talked to some fellow hikers, took pictures and signed the log. We took of on the return around 9:00 AM and met many hikers, one who had fallen and showed bruises on face and hands. We helped her cleaning a facial cut and provided bandage and water. She appeared confused and we strongly encouraged her to return with us, but she refused and wanted to go on. We were back at Trail Camp at 12 AM, had lunch packed up camp, and were back at Portal at 6:00 PM, after enjoying some quiet time at Lone Pine Lake.
