"Peak #4 in Jes' Birthday Peakbagging Bonanza, AND my 24th LVMC Classic 50 Peak! Pro tip - if Google wants you to turn off of your perfectly acceptable and well-graded dirt road onto a double-track into a cow pasture that looks like it hasn't been used in months... DON'T. I could have gotten to the trailhead probably 45-60 minutes earlier than I did if I ignored Google both times that it told me to turn off my good-quality dirt road. But, I guess it was google's attempt to get me to have some "fun" on my birthday? Anyway! The actual dirt roads out here are well-graded and in good shape. A bit rocky from time to time; most of what you see out here is OHVs, and most of the non-OHVs have light truck tires or at least all-terrains. (I have light truck tires on Galahad fwiw.) I think that would be wise, as some of the rocks are sharp, and a flat tire out here would be BAD NEWS, as it's quite remote and there's no cell signal. Plus towing off of a dirt road is a heck of a bill. The trailhead has a vault toilet and a decent amount of parking. (Even toilet paper, too! Clean and well-maintained). There's an interpretive sign about the fires in the area. The first part of the hike is STEEP, b..." — psychikingjes • Oct 10, 2020

"Amber & Mel hadn't done Logan or Trumbull yet and needed them for the LVMC50 list, so I drove them out here, hoping to be able to do the Lava Falls hike to the Colorado River as well. Unfortunately, we were short on time and gas, so no Lava Falls for us. The hikes we did were pleasant, though! " — Kevin • Nov 22, 2014

"Drove up from Vegas to camp at Toroweap. Planned to bag Logan & Trumbull while we were here. I found this hike largely uninteresting on the way up. There was a fire recently that burned a lot of the forest at the top of the mountain. The way back did afford some good vistas of the Arizona Strip, though." — Kevin • May 11, 2013

"I took the hike up with Kevin and Josef while in the area camping at Toroweap!! If your short on time I would skip this one and try to hike to a peak closer to the Grand Canyon, the view from those peaks is amazing!!" — Corey • May 11, 2013
