"Mount Tayabasan Summit is part of Lanawan Moutain Range alongside Mt. Purro peaks.
Its jump-off point is in Brgy. Calawis, Antipolo, Rizal. Though geographically part of Antipolo City it is nearer in Montalban and San Mateo.
The trail is exposed to sunlight. No watersource can be found along the trail but a spring can be made at the foot of the mountain where the Montalban Rivers (Marikina Watershed Protected) is situated. Camping is not possible due to steep descent and ascent and inavailability of flat area. It is dayhikable withsidetrips to Montalban River swimming. Other sidetrips are doable with other peaks near the area. Traverses are also possible. Boso-boso, Puray, Mascap and Wawa are possible exit points if doing a traverse. In our case, we exited in Wawa and welcomed by the Wawa Trio, Mts. Binacayan, Pamitinan and Hapunang Banoi.
On the first visit, our entry point was in Calawis, headed toSitio Malasya for an outreach and then reversed to Sitio Apia going to Lanawan the next day. From Lanawan we traversed until Wawa through river-crossing/trekking. We passed the Mts. Lamita and Napia? and many other unnamed/unexplored mountains of Sierra Madre. Nearing Wawa, Mt...." — annvicente • Apr 3, 2016
