Jagged Globe expedition to Rwenzori. Central trek (anticlockwise) from Nyakalengija. We left Bujuku Hut at 06:50. We ascended the Stuhlman Pass and near the top took a route NE initially up a shallow gully with a climb up tree roots at the top. There was then a lot of scrambling, some on moss-covered rocks. There was one awkward bit with a strenuous pull-up. The route swung NW, N (with a view of two small lakes) and then E. We then went to the Speke Glacier. Rope and crampons were used. I reached the summit at 11:45, ie Vittorio Emanuele 4890m, the highest point of Mount Speke. Time given by Wielochowski (guidebook) is 5 hrs. We returned by the outward route. I down climbed the awkward bit, although the others abseiled/were lowered. I got back to the hut at 15:20 ie 8 hours 30 mins for the day. Jagged Globe estimate is 10 - 12 hours.
