"DW and I walked up the Croesus track from Barrytown to the tussock slopes of Mt Ryall then carried on up the ridge to the summit. We returned the same way.
It was a sunny day with good visibility but there were very strong gusty winds. " — glennj • Aug 26, 2022
"The date is approximate but it was summer 1980. I'd already been to Mt Ryall in 1978 with work! This trip was recreational with Ron Heward and Carl Pullan accompanying me. We walked from the Roa Road as in those days the 2 wheel drive road had not been extended to the Smoke Ho carpark. We went through to Barrytown via the Croesus track doing various detours on the way to look at old mining relics such as the Garden Gully crusher battery and the "pylons" on Croesus Knob.
