"Our group of three started our ascension up Mt. Potter at 10:33AM without knowing anything about the mountain (Just picked a peak, decided to climb it.) Our hike began in the SW side of Sunshine Valley Resort and traveled directly WSW through a couple ravines for about 2 hours until we reached a rock field. After a quick 15 minute break (and a couple pictures) we continued due WSW for another hour. Eventually, we reached a flat wooded plateau N of the peak. After a quick compass and navigation check, the group agreed to travel S uphill. Another hour of dense bushwhacking, we reached the rocky terrain of the Potter's Summit. Carefully scaling and climbing a few rock walls, we reached a cliff at the top of the mountain that looked East with a beautiful view of the Sunshine Valley with great views of Silvertip mountain (south) and Mount Outram (North East.) After a quick lunch break and a ton of pictures, we decided to begin our descension at around 3:15PM travelling NE down the mountain after a couple detours, we finally concluded our trip at 7:08PM." — MierzOutdoors • Sep 5, 2015
