"During a guided meetup group hike we bushwhacked straight up the side of Middle Mt. to the viewpoint just southwest of the summit. The open woods were easy to negotiate even though it was steep. It was a great day with a slight breeze and the view to the So. Mt. FireTower and beyond couldn't be better. Went down the easy way via the trail!" — SteveM_StickMan • Oct 11, 2024
"After my dentist appointment, I drove down to Pawtuckaway State Park to do some red-lining of the trails. Off of Reservation Rd, I did a loop to the south and had to go over some beaver flooding on the trail. I hiked up between South and Middle Peak and hiked up South first. Nice views from the fire tower. I then headed up Middle where I had a directional ledge view. I touched the high point in the woods and headed down. I was running out of time, so I took the Tower Rd back to my car. " — newenglandwarrior • Mar 14, 2024
"Last of the three main peaks inside this state park (except for Rocky Ridge) that have a trail to. I only had about 1 1/2 hrs of daylight left so my hope of returning to the South Mt. Firetower will have to wait. Only about 2-3" of fluffy snow covered the ground; bare booted up and back with no issues. I didn't realize this but Open Topo shows a lookout about 1/2 mile past the summit, which I'll have to check out another time. At least I wasn't walking out in the dark this time, as is a habit of mine for this park!" — SteveM_StickMan • Feb 27, 2023
"Nice warm up hike as I wait for more snow to melt in the Whites... 11.3 miles in Pawtuckaway State Park, first 7 miles or so I didn't see anyone then got pretty busy as I left South Pawtuckaway with the fire tower." — kpreston21 • Apr 7, 2018
"19FEB2012: Unusually warm & beautiful February day in NH. Parked at the first lot off Deerfield's Reservation Road, and hiked all the way into the Middle Road trail. That made for a very nice 6-7mi hike. Very well marked, and pleasant meandering wide trails. " — CiccheMariti • Feb 19, 2012
