"We weren't sure how we'd do at 14k, so we started super early in the morning and made our way to Mount Belford via the NW ridge, then traversed over to Mount Oxford. We weren't very fast, but we made it. Instead of descending back down the steep ridge, we opted to descend the more gradual, but longer route to Elkhead Pass. Once past the pass, we had a discussion about Missouri Mountain. That was the next day's agenda, but neither of us were anxious to do the approach again. It was only another 1500 or so feet of gain...why not?! We did it (extremely slowly) and were the last people off of the mountain today. Luckily, we had perfect weather all day long. We saw a lone mountain goat on our way up Belford, which became our spirit animal for the day." — Kevin • Sep 4, 2020
"Mountain 2 of 4 for the day and my 17th fourteener so far this season. This one would be easy if you did not have to return back up the way you came down to it. The return trip is by far the most difficult part. We continued on to Missouri Mountain. " — IanWright • Sep 6, 2015

"The plan was to get belford/oxford and missouri. Like many other I had to bail on Missouri just as I started since the weather was getting nasty. only stayed on the summit of oxford for maybe 1min to get some pics and run back trying to get Missouri before the weather got me." — Ryan_Wallace • Aug 25, 2015

"Started at 6:30 or so in the morning. Peaked Belford first. Met cool people at the top and enjoyed the cookies they gave us. (: Began descent of Oxford at around 11:45am. Did not follow trail on the way down, so it took forever and we got back to the trailhead around 4:30pm. 13th 14er. Unsure of exact date." — Globetrotter87 • Jun 16, 2012
