"Up Indian Trail (North).
Down Hardscrabble to Carriage Trail and back to Kineo Dock. I missed the ferry back, thankfully was able to catch the 445pm!
Hardscrabble was a little steeper than expected, slippery with recent rain with spots of decomposed pine needle peat adding to the slick. Great hike, beautiful views. " — CAnn • Jul 26, 2021
"Awesome hike. Ferry is a bit pricey, especially for a 6 yr old. Great small peak. Easy enough, but with a lot of quick up to get you breathing. Cliff Trail was awesome with great views all the way up. Fire tower at the top is an added bonus. Took the boring trail down. Then almost broke my ankle on the perimeter trail when we were almost back at the trailhead. Worst rolled ankle ever. Luckily no major damage, and was back to 100% in a few days. Kids had a good time and enjoyed the mountain. " — mikewilliamsjr • Aug 12, 2019
"It was a breezy 44 degrees up on Kineo. We took took Atticus and Gracie up
Carriage trail to the Bridle trail. Streams of water were rushing down the trails. What a great day for my husband and I with our dogs. " — tammyterranova-veach • Oct 1, 2015
"A gorgeous hike all around on the mountain my wife and I dubbed "the giant cheese wedge." The 0.8 mile walk along the shore to the start of the Bridle Trail provided a wonderful view along the water. The Bridle Trail, although easier than the Indian Trail, was still a solid moderate hike with some difficult sections of elevation gain. Even before we reached the summit, the lookout where the Bridle and Indian trails meet was a wonderful surprise. We decided to have lunch there as opposed to the crowded fire tower at the summit.
That being said, a trip to the fire tower is definitely a must as well. The view from the top was endless, with every nook and cranny of Moosehead showing itself. This is a mountain that can't be missed when by Moosehead." — HikeLikeMike • Sep 6, 2015
