Nora, Kali and I hiked up the Winslow Trail to the summit, returning by the Barlow Trail to make a nice loop.

It was chilly on the way up and pretty cold at the top, but we hunkered down and had lunch before descending. The views are awesome from the summit, and the first ledges on Winslow are pretty great too. There were nice ledge views on the way back on the Barlow Trail too.

The lower part of Barlow is beautiful as well, but instead of ledge views, you have roots and fir needles to walk on and pretty woods to look at.

The Winslow Trail is short and moderate to fairly steep, while the Barlow Trail is .7 longer and much more moderate to easy. It was nice having the less steep descent, having gotten the steeps out of the way on the way up.

The only thing that makes this mountain less than 100% awesome is the ginormous cell phone tower with its accompanying sheds at the summit. The fire tower is normal and didn't really detract from the experience for me, but the cell tower really stood out like a very sore thumb. At least the sheds were mostly hidden in the trees just below the summit.

Still, this is a wonderful hike with fabulous views and not one to miss.
