After descending from Hamlin to the saddle, the clouds disappeared, the sun came out, and the wind died. The conditions were perfect when I arrived at Baxster and I was absolutely stunned that there were only three other people on the summit. Last year, almost to the day, I was up here with about 30 other thru hikers and day hikers. It was amazing to have that sort of solitude on such a popular summit. I spent a little time enjoying the perfect conditions and snapping a couple photos before continuing on to the knife's edge which I had skipped the year before since we did an out and back on the Hunt trail.
