"Hiked from the Mead Conservation house to Sandwich Notch road to Guinea trail, Mead and Wentworth trails. 8.28 miles and 2,007 vertical. Cloudy day so the views weren’t great. Kind of humid though." — mattgardner • Jun 26, 2021
"Nora, Kali and Brooklyn and I hiked Mt Israel on a sunny day. It is a nice easy/moderate hike with decent views at the top.
If you go behind the Cairn at the top and over to the right, there is a fairly short little trail that goes down and over to more viewpoints that are even better than the summit ones, imho, albeit, in a different direction." — Hufflepuff • Oct 15, 2020
"Did a a nice hike up the Guinea trail and Mead trail to summit. The fall colors were at there peak and the summit views were pretty awesome. We then hiked down the Wentworth trail to a waiting car spot" — blackwolf_03278 • Sep 27, 2020
"Hiked Mount Israel with the pup, Ella. Spent about an hour at the summit getting some sun. A little windy at the summit but clear views of the Sandwich Wilderness. 13/52 of 52 WAV." — dmcosker • May 16, 2020
"Solo hike on a beautiful day. Multiple lookout points with great views to the Groton wind farm, Sandwich Range, Ossipee Range, and Squam Lake. Numerous blueberry bushes at the summit for a nice snack. I was able to help a trio of hikers at the top by naming off many of the visible peaks (I had just taught myself them with a little orienteering). Upon returning to the trailhead I took a side trip to explore Cow Cave and Beede Falls. Very cool geology and water pool!" — gullyhiker • Jul 29, 2017
"What an amazing hike. It was pretty steep (for me). It took just over 3 hours to hike 4.07miles. The views from the ledges and summit were incredible. I wish I could have stayed longer! I definitely plan to check out additional peaks in the area soon.
This is also the first peak in which I brought along lightweight binoculars. I have never seen another hiker use any, which deterred me for a while, but I am so glad I had them today. It was amazing to see the surrounding mountains so close up. I also spotted a wind farm on the ridge of one of the mountains that others may never have noticed! " — KeepCalmClimbOn • Aug 11, 2013
