"Today, Kali, my Golden Retriever, and I hiked up Mt. Hayes, in New Hampshire, which is on the NH 52 (53) with a view list, and is in the Mahoosucs Range.
We took the Mahoosuc Trail from Gorham, NH and the beginning part of it from the old B&M bridge was not so easy to figure out, so we did about an hour's worth of backtracking in the blazing sun, walking up and down a dirt road and a couple of unmarked trails until I decided to bite the bullet and keep going on one of them hoping for a blaze.

"Parked at the Rattle river trail head and road walked the AT over to the start of the hike. Hot, hazy, humid day, but a nice hike. Had ledges to myself and ran into a bunch of thru hikers on way back." — blackwolf_03278 • Jul 1, 2018
"Went up via Centennial. Had good weather. hiked down to the nice ledge on the Mahoosic trail. Talked with a nice couple who'd come up Mahoosic and said the trail was very wet and buggy. " — Alohabuffy • Jul 16, 2017
"Hiked Imp Face then drove over to Mount Hayes. FYI there is no real trail further down the road....it just led to some serious off roading and no trail at all. Ended up taking the AT up. " — shay-shay • Jun 27, 2017
"NoBo AT Thru Hike 2016.
After breakfast with friends (Katie and Ed whom Kim will be hiking with tomorrow (Sunday)) we got packed up and did a quick resupply and got Kim back out on the trail. She will be meeting up with them on Mount Success and they will accompany her into Maine!! her final state and the last 281 miles of the trail. Coming to the end pretty quickly now.
