Started off at the Mount Wilson entrance gate and descended the old Mt Wilson Toll Road. As is usually the case, there is a locked gate leading to Mt Harvard. I expected that, so I activated my backup plan. Instead, I would descend to the Harvard Ridge firebreak below Mount Yale. I headed up the fire break (which is rather faint at times), and topped out on Mount Yale. Some bushwhacking was necessary to stay on portions of the use trail leading to a saddle between Mount Yale and Mount Harvard. The trail closely parallels Mount Wilson Toll Road along the way, but is not visible from the road. The steepest part of the climb comes when climbing the rest of the way up Mount Harvard. On the summit, there are a few buildings and tall towers. Once finishing the visit, I descended the peak road and made an easy sidestep of the locked gate, which didn't seem so intimidating from the inside. I then closed the semi-loop with a return back up Mount Wilson Toll Road.
