"A leisurely 8:15a start from camp at Frypan Meadow. The trail through the meadow and across the National Forest boundary is indistinct and hard to follow, but becomes much more clear once it begins to climb the dusty forested slopes. From the meadow below the peak, one gets a good views of Harrington's impressive summit pinnacle as well as the options for gaining the ridge. I chose a class 3 route up through the cliff band to the right of the peak, made somewhat difficult due the abundance of dirt and pine needles covering the holds. The north ridge itself was a fun, exciting class 3 scramble over solid rock. Severe exposure can mostly be avoided. Full register dating back to 1966 with scraps back to 1955! A great scramble, but a lot of work to reach a fairly short route. An obvious class 3 descent chute is visible on the way down that wasn't at all obvious on the way up. Exiting the chute at the bottom, however, required a few unexposed class 4 moves on friction slabs with sparse, but good handholds. A hot hike back down to Roads End followed by many cold drinks and snacks from the Cedar Grove store.
