"Really well kept area at the top of this mountain. There are some plaques near the highest point with information about the mountain and the native plants. Make sure you find the right rock for the highest point lol" — emkabalka • Jun 12, 2022

"Hiked the loop clockwise starting on Tub Mill Trail and eventually connecting with High Point Trail. Beautiful spring day, clear views from the observation tower. First of two high points on the day." — jodola • May 2, 2022

"Made quick stops at Mount Davis and Baughman Rocks on the last day of my weeklong road trip. This time, I made sure to climb the summit rock on Davis to make it official.
As it turns out, Mount Davis might not be the highest point in Pennsylvania after all. Recent LiDAR findings show higher elevations in other areas nearby, with the highest point being nearly a mile away from Davis and roughly a quarter-mile north of Baughman Rocks. Google's satellite view shows a large rock at 39.798428, -79.170881 that is my guess as to where PA's actual highpoint may be located -- it's only a hundred feet east of the LiDAR highpoint.

"First of Three high points on the weekend. Beautiful weather while we were there. It was really cool on the observation tower, seeing all the fall colored trees. This now makes three for Finn and I. " — CravinoCrew • Oct 23, 2020

"Mount Davis! Second time, this trip had 100% less snow than the first trip! Also 100% more gorgeous fall foliage. The first of the three state high points we were grabbing for Ken, since it's his first time in the area. Gorgeous weather, beautiful leaves all around, just a good day. Be warned: apparently the actual peak is about 500 feet to the east of where the sign and the observation tower is. Maybe I'll go back a 3rd time, but honestly, I feel that if I've sat on the highpointers' club bench and touched the sign and climbed the observation deck... I've been to the summit. Shame on me for not making 100% sure, but I also had no cell signal to check the Peakery app. *shrug*" — psychikingjes • Oct 20, 2020
"Spent Saturday getting some more state highpoints. First one of the day was Mount Davis, which was just a quick walk from the parking area. There is a tower on the summit, some signage, and a picnic area. Hiked with Kim. " — LGH-Tom • Aug 29, 2020

"As part of a 16 or 17 state highpoint blitz of the Northeast this August while working remotely 8 hrs a day from various Starbucks.
To finish off a 5 hr morning before work, I virtually drove up to Mt Davis in PA. Its a boulder on the highest land and hey finally some sun for the viewing tower. Now heading East to Ebright then NJ tonight and Delaware tomorrow AM before Mt Marcy and Mansfield on the weekend." — alexjoseph • Aug 8, 2019

"Quite a fun drive out from Philadephia! Passed through many small towns, and shared the road with a few horse-drawn wagons as well. Road takes you all the way to the summit - no hiking is necessary to walk to summit, but there are loop hikes that go around the mountain." — sklarguy • Jun 22, 2019

"It can never be easy, can it? Here I thought I was in for a leisurely stroll down the flat, one-mile High Point Trail on Mount Davis. Well, the heavy downpours from the night before put a damper in those plans.
The majority of the trail resembled a stream and the water in spots was higher than my ankles. In the most flooded section, I elected to remove my boots and walk barefoot -- with extreme caution so as not to cut my feet on any sharp rocks! My new boots passed this test, as they remained comfortably dry the entire time. I'm now speculating that they got so wet on Moss Lake Mountain from snow creeping inside them, which is a plausible explanation given how uncomfortably damn my usually-reliable wool socks got that winter day in the Western Adirondacks!
I didn't spend much time atop the firetower since I was previously up there four years ago. I ended up spending more time at Baughman Rocks on the other side of Mount Davis Road. That trail was considerably drier, and so unchallenging that it's handicapped-accessible according to the trailhead sign. The fun part began when I reached the colossal rocks at the end of the trail. Walking on them while trying not to get freaked o..." — theascent • May 18, 2019

"Drove up in a Kia Soul... through 6+ inches of unplowed snow. Thank goodness other vehicles had blazed the trail for us. State highpoint #5 for me and #1 for my mother! This was part of a weekend trip to Mount Davis, Backbone Mountain, and Spruce Knob. (We got 2/3; the snow defeated us for Spruce Knob and we will return in the summer.)" — psychikingjes • Mar 24, 2018
