"Started at Ribbon Creek and hiked up to Mount Allan. Then dropped down to the east and ascended Mount Collembola. There was quite a bit of moderate downclimbing from this route. We descended from Collembola's north ridge to Dead Man's Flats where we parked a second vehicle.
I would recommend doing this route in the opposite direction so that you are climbing up the scramble sections on Collembola instead of downclimbing. " — nathanwatt • Jul 20, 2020
"Mount Allan was awesome. From the parking lot follow trail signs for Centennial ridge. Once you make it up Centennial ridge the route to the summit is obvious. Really awesome rock formations along the ridge closer to the summit. Unfortunately I lost all my original picture files from this trip and all the ones I salvaged from facebook are too small to upload here :( " — Slogenstein • Oct 20, 2018
"Strange day. I followed explor8ion's GPS track and he went a strange round about way at the start, so I did too and wasted a little time. The trail up to centennial ridge was quite steep, but the ridge walk up to Mt Allan was great and the pinnacles were cool. Also the larches were out so that was a bonus. I had no idea the trail was so heavily used. Ended up being a much longer hike than I expected at 18.7km. My backpack was supposed to weigh 15kg but actually was 21kg. not sure how that happened. so all things considered very glad to be done in 6hr40. Centennial trail looks fun, but I doubt I'll go back to complete the north half. If I'd have known how long the east approach is, I likely would have done the full trail instead. "Well today was a big day... Corbin Ruthven and I decided to summit 3 mountains. Olympic Summit, Mount Allan and Mount Collembola. It took as 9 hours almost on the dot, to cover 24KM and almost 2000Meters of total elevation. My Fitbit stats are all wanked due to having to stop tracking with the Fitbit GPS due to fear of running out of battery, so I switched to the phone. Oh and we camped over night in a campground. Not as fun as the backcountry....." — TBird • Aug 2, 2016
"Clocks changed and had a late start so came here instead of a longer trip planned. Fresh snow but mainly snow free except for snow drifts and some icy sections. Some heavier winds along the ridge in places. Summit only had light winds and was worth the trip." — Randy • Mar 13, 2016
"Was very cold on the summit ridge and one of the last winter ascents of the year for me. (i think i did sulphur mountain after this and that was it for 2011). Ended up being a whiteout so don't have any good photos of the summit with a view. We signed the register though and got pictures of that. Maybe will have to redo this peak doing the entire ridge traverse from Dead man's flats to nakiska with a better forecast. " — dkmountainman • Nov 12, 2011
