"My son and I staarted about 10am and it was an incredble climb. This was my sons second trip up but my first. It was a challenge and i pushed myself beyond anything i thought i could do. We completed the top about 2:30pm. Cold, windy but beautiful. We decended and Im glad we were prepared for anything cause we got caught in the dark. Although the sunrise was gorgeous my calculations were off. Websites and reports are incorrect with the milage and times. Im an advid hiker so i come well prepared. I planned my trip based on reports and i was so far off. Trail was difficult with headlamps but i made it with my poles and my son lead the way out. We met someeone coming down that was just casually waking their dog and we knew then we were almist back. That last 2 hours felt like forever. We reached the bottom at 5:28pm 14.4 miles later. 7.5 hrs later. We will remember this adventure forever!" — valeriedupont • Nov 6, 2023

"First peak on our out and back trip for Nancy’s Vermont finish on a picture perfect day! Followed the Long Trail up, up, and up until a ridge walk. Passed the LT leanto and privy. Saw plane crash before 360 views at the top. " — lfrancois • Sep 9, 2022

"A splendid bluebird day with views for miles into the Adirondack and White Mountains from atop Mountain Abraham from the Green Mountains today. The Abraham plane crash is eerily similar to Mount Marshall and was an interesting find to see. The crash occurred in June 1973 and surprisingly all three occupants uninjured. I took the Long Trail North as a 13 mile out and back with some other peaks along the ridge to Ellen and back and was the only one atop Abraham summit, the way I like it - solitude. If I ever had a trail nickname I believe that would be it, Solitude. It was a gorgeous day to breath mountain air. I thought about also doing Mount Mansfield but may save that for my birthday. "Love love love mount Abe! Actually climbed 3 peaks on this hike. Found the airplane crash which was absolutely fascinating. The weather was rainy which made the rock scrambles tricky. " — amberlf • Oct 3, 2020
"6 of us went up Abraham and Ellen. We went up via the Battell Tr. Socked in on Abraham. We switched over to snowshoes and made our way to Ellen. On the return, the cloud cover lifted, and we had views back on Abraham. My second time on this peak but the first time with views. They were great. I drove back to Portsmouth after this hike. "we took a few days to explore two of the VT 4000 footers in winter as well as enjoy a day exploring Burlington. The weather was perfect, the trails were beautiful, the challenges were interesting and the laughs were plenty." — deb-and-rob • Feb 23, 2019

" — fsoucy76 • Oct 14, 2017

"Deb and I picked another beautiful day to hike, this time we did the Sugarbush Range via the Long Trail from Abraham to Lincoln to Nancy Hanks to Cutts to Ellen peak. Great weather, great views and great exercise! Found the hike very enjoyable and a steady moderate hike the whole way. " — hbotc • Sep 16, 2017

"out & back 'traverse' up to Abraham and over to Ellen AND THEN BACK.....
I didnt have a car spot so it was easier just to go all the way and then come all the way back....beautiful hike, watched the rain come in and move around me but I never got wet....stunning day!!" — shay-shay • Aug 7, 2017

"Headed up to Vermont Friday night and stayed at Green Mountain campground. Following morning dropped one car off at Lincoln Gap for finish. Then headed to the Jerusalem trail for start, hiked to Ellen and over sub peaks to Mt Abraham. Was wet and rainy day, but fun day with friends just the same." — blackwolf_03278 • Jun 3, 2017
