Climbed via Monte Pratiglio. From the road southeast of Rocca Massima, parking at the end of this by large gates. Up a wide track that goes up south of Pratiglio at a steady rate before arriving on a shoulder of this little hill, and arriving at the saddle of it and the larger hill beyond - the true target. A detour from the saddle to climb Pratiglio then more or less up the ridge or on a path again just south of it, which is more sheltered. The route switches between the two and is well sign-posted so it can be loosely followed as takes your fancy.
Just before the highest point of this hill is where I crossed the ravine to get to Monte Rinsaturo. It looks like you could carry on and meet another path that descends to Rinsaturo, which I rejoined. My route cut off some of the doubling back necessary. Descended 20m or so into very sheltered, wide and leafy hollows, and then skirted a couple of minor rises to reach the other ridge. Here it was a rocky and quite overgrown descent for a while, then climb to Rinsaturo. Returned more or less the same way.
Saw three boar for a few seconds. They were black and could have been 35 kg or so. Also saw quite a few horses. Many of the trees were beech and the ground was often covered in the nuts. Hence the boar, I guess. Many spider webs in the forest. Also got bothered by an odd sort of fly. Quite lethargic and heavy, like a deer fly perhaps. Didn't seem to bite, but very indifferent to all attempts to deter.
