The name of this hill means "the aim" and that made it stand out, and the 800m dislivello just about manageable for Mr Totally Outofshape. Relatively nearby there is a Monte Panico and a Monte Tranquillo. I will try these someday. Wanted something above 2000m to experience a bit of freshness!

From Prato di Mezzo following N1 path left of restaurant complex. Heading up though wood, quite sheltered almost to the refuge the heading up through open valley to another wooded area with the ravine to your right. Up the valley gradually emerging from wooded area, the trees getting sparser and sparser until they stop as does the shade they provided. The main presence here is the eastern side of Toretella Paradiso? before The Aim emerges from behind it. One level with this spur, the path circles anti-clockwise up to Passo dei Monaci. Still some icy snow visible here.

From the open space of the pass, the steep diagonal route up La Meta is visible. The rock is impressive here, yet if anything, from this vantage point its smaller neighbour to the east seems to loom over it. An exhausting, slow climb gets you to the craggy and blustery summit, just in time for some cloud to roll in and obscure the views (probably). But there is shelter among the rocks.
Return same as ascent. The path is clearly marked throughout. Quite tiring, didn't want to take a step further!
