"Formed a semi-loop hike by going up Skyline Drive and coming down the Skinsuit Trail. I extended out on the Main Divide to include Hagador Peak before coming back to the Skinsuit Junction. My first time on Skinsuit. It is a good express route back down, it saved me at least 3-4 miles." — MikeTeeples • Mar 31, 2023

"I summited alll of these peaks in the same day in March 2021. The attempt to summit Mine II Benchmark was foiled because we hadn't hiked for a while. But the Knobcone and Coulter pines along the trail were so cool! This was our second longest hike yet clocking in at 19 miles. This video will help

"Started out at 6:30 AM and headed up the Skyline Trail. Since I have been on the trail before, I already knew that it would be a long and mostly uninteresting climb up a dirt road. Since my last visit, Peakery.com added two new peaks along the trail. This was my chance to not only revisit, but to check off the other two peaks along the way. I headed up the trail with a head of steam and did not stop until I reached Peak 3020 (about 6 miles in). I paused on the summit for a few minutes next to the building that looks like a teed up golf ball. I closed out the climb by going another mile or so to Mine II Benchmark. The summit is flat and has good views. I managed to find the benchmark as well, which confirmed that I was at the right place. Mine II Benchmark was my turnaround point, so I headed back down the road from there, where I visited Peak 2694 before heading back to where I parked." — MikeTeeples • Feb 13, 2021

"14 mile round trip hike from Skyline Drive Trailhead in Corona. Had to leave the main trail and hike up the mountain bike trail to summit Peak 2694 only to see a big snake sunning himself (he had kind of a bulge halfway down his length, so I think he was happily digesting too!). Then onto Main Divide to Peak 3020 and the weather radar station and finally to Mine II Benchmark. Then back to discover my car had been broken into... shattered glass near by so I wasn't the only one hit. I've since seen reports on other hiking sites that this area is extremely prone to break-ins. Obviously the last time I hike here... " — marc • May 25, 2019

"I have read about this obscure summit on Iron Hiker's blog. Iron Hiker took the firebreak that starts near Skyline straight up to this summit.
I wanted to start 2019 with a bang by planning to take Skyline and Main Divide all the way to Pleasants Peak. I hit up Skyline Drive in Corona, instead of the firebreak, starting at 6am, met the Main Divide. The lower slopes around Skyline have a lot of fire damage, but the path itself is fine. I turned left (north) at Main Divide at Oak Flat going through Beeks at 2,800', then The peak with the KSOX doppler (Peak 3020'), which I made the 50 yard detour to summit, and then south along Main Divide more. Mine II is on top of the same aforementioned firebreak which meets Main Divide here, and the summit has a small survey marker. From the south, the summit looks like it has some prominence, but at the summit, the terrain drops off slightly to the north, with higher terrain not too far away. However, it was nice to find the obscure benchmark. The peak is hidden in plain sight as it is only 30-50 yards from where Main Divide makes its highest pass of the top! I found the benchmark. I then proceeded to visit Hagador Peak, and then fina..." — brianpowell • Jan 13, 2019
