"We did this loop clockwise, but met several hikers doing in counter. I think getting Carter Dome out of the way first is a good idea, next time we'll do it counter-clockwise too. First time utilizing the Joe Dodge cut-off. Surprising amount of snow on the ridge, could have used snowshoes. Nice blue, sunny skies with little to no wind made all those peak-a-boo views along the ridge look fantastic." — Alohabuffy • Nov 26, 2023
"A tough day in the mountains. Molly and I headed up 19 Mile Brook Tr and Carter Dome Tr to Zeta Pass. It was slow going up Carter Dome Tr since the trail was partially broken out. From Zeta Pass, the trail was even less broken out. We headed up to Carter Dome first. We then backtracked and made our way up South Carter, then over to Middle Carter. Partway to Middle Carter, a group of 6 went the opposite direction. At that point, the trail was a lot more broken out and we made better time. We reached the summit of Middle Carter, then headed down Imp Cir Tr, eventually reaching the road. A road walk brought us back to 19 Mile Brook trailhead. " — newenglandwarrior • Mar 18, 2023
"It snowed on Friday. Concerned about trail breaking, we decided to do Middle and South Carter for Molly's grid needs. We got a late start because I forgot my snowshoes and poles in Center Conway. We parked at the trailhead and headed up 19 Mile Brook Tr. There was a shocking lack of snow. We wore snowshoes the whole way though. We went up Carter Dome Tr, then the Carter Moriah Tr to Middle Carter. Then back out the same way. " — newenglandwarrior • Feb 26, 2022
"I needed South and Middle Carter for my Grid. Quick hike to get them. Weather wasn't the greatest, another reason for choosing these two peaks today. Some high elevation fog and mositure. 11.8 miles" — newenglandwarrior • Aug 5, 2021
"A Wildcat Carter traverse with the girlfriend picking me up on the Imp Face Tr. Beautiful day out with a chilly wind. Felt great going up the Wildcat Ridge Tr out of Pinkham Notch. Also got to visit Mt Hight and Imp Face. Gridded out 3 peaks of the 5 today." — newenglandwarrior • Jul 28, 2021
"Molly and I went for the Carter Range today. Both of us needed them this month. We parked at 19 Mile Brook and walked down to Joe Dodge. We then cut through to reach Imp Tr. We then headed up. We eventually reached the ridge and headed to Lethe first. After tagging the summit, we went up to Middle Carter and tagged that summit. We then headed over and tagged South Carter. Next, we dropped down to Zeta Pass, then up Mt Hight. Been awhile since I was last on Hight. Lovely views today. We then went over to Carter Dome. Molly also wanted to tie up a loose end and grab Wildcat A. So we dropped down into Carter Notch. Still feeling decent, we made our way up A peak and got it. We then doubled back into Carter Notch and took 19 Mile Brook Tr out to the car. " — newenglandwarrior • Nov 8, 2020
"Hiked up via 19 Mile Brook Trail to Carter Notch Hut. Topped off water at the Hut and proceeded on the steep climb up to Carter Dome. Great lookout point looking over at Wildcat A and down in to the Notch. After Carter Dome hit Mount Hight which has the best views in the whole Carter-Moriah Range. From there traversed over to South Carter and then Middle Carter. Hiked down via North Carter Trail to the Imp Trail and out via Camp Dodge. It was a short road walk on Rte. 16 back to the trailhead. Fantastic day marking off 41, 42, and 43 of the NH 48." — dmcosker • Jul 18, 2020

"Big Loop: Nineteen Mile Brook Tr up Carter Dome Trail to south Carter. Across the ridge. Quick bushwhack to Lethe. Tagged north carter. Down IMP Trail to Camp Dodge Cutoff and a short roadwalk back to the Nineteen Mile Brook trailhead. " — mikeinfantino • Apr 11, 2020

"A long and satisfying climb. The weather was perfect and the foliage just past peak. We took 19 Mile Brook Trail to Carter Dome Trail, and then the Carter-Moriah Trail over both peaks and back again. The vivid colors and crisp air more than made up for the long wait for views. When we did draw near to the South Carter summit, we were able to find a high boulder just off the trail where we could stop and eat lunch long enough for the feathery clouds to part. 19 Mile Brook Trail is very pleasant and forgiving, a great way to start and end a climb." — gooner • Oct 13, 2019
"Katie V needed the Carters towards her NH48 and I needed them for my Grid. So we agreed to team up. The weather wasn't the greatest for most of the hike. But at least Katie go to see something from Carter Dome. We went up Middle Carter first and Carter Dome last. We bypassed Mt Hight. " — newenglandwarrior • Sep 22, 2018
