Access to the peak is off US-285 onto a signed forest road 558. I followed forest road R16 (not signed) to a user road north of the peak. This area is littered with roads so having a map helps. While some roads are passable with a passenger vehicle, portions of FR-R16 require a high clearance vehicle with a 4WD vehicle recommended. From the unofficial trailhead simply hike to the clearly visible peak. You can scramble up the final rock face but there is a crack in the rock on the northeast side that makes access easier. Great views. Summit log in the rock cairn.
