This was one of several hikes that my girlfriend and I did during this trip up Schnebly Hill Road from Sedona. The road was rocky and slow going, but fortunately, I have a high clearance FJ Cruiser so I was able to do just as well as the myriad of pink jeeps that seem to frequent the area. After a fun time of climbing around on the Cow pies, (Heh… that’s kinda funny) we made our way up to the Merry-Go-Round rock where we caught the last part of a wedding that was taking place on the wide ledge that overlooks the valley. We parked and it was a short hike up the trail to the top of the rock. From there it was just a matter of climbing around on the red sandstone hoodoos and slickrock to get to the highest point on the rock. The trail was really, really short, but the views were great, and frankly, it’s just a lot of fun to climb around on stuff…. any stuff…. but this stuff was some good stuff.
