"Living in Chagford and looking across the road at Meldon Hill every day meant this was a no brainer to bag. Amazing 360 degree views at the summit. Lots of wonderful outcrops and of course the high point trig. Most days there are either cattle or ponies up here and at peak times it’s extremely busy with people and their dogs. The smaller sister to this hill is just across the way, Nattadon Hill." — Evie-and-Me • Jan 7, 2019
"15/02/18 Solo Chagford: I Love this peak - 5 granite outcrops and a summit trig point, added bonus too with great views (on a nice day!). 4th summit! Naturally had lunch and sheltered from the wind. Admired the stunning views. Found a letterbox and wrote a message :) It rained a little down the steep track to Chagford." — torbagger • Feb 15, 2018
"A morning of dark clouds meant that I called Cosdon quits. In Chagford I made the decision to get off the bus and, using my OS map chose a route. I had walked around here many times and knew many routes. I decided to do a previous walk backwards. At Week Down, with 2 hours left, I decided to visit Meldon Hill (3rd visit and not the last!). I walked along the lanes to it and put on some sun cream. By now it was really hot and sunny and the views were some of the best! The walk down to Chagford is a killer, mainly because it is uneven and extremely steep - at some points I felt my feet go. Meldon Hill is a must-visit place on a clear day! :-)" — torbagger • Oct 27, 2017
