"My brother Erin flew home from Shanghai yesterday, spent the night at my place in Plainfield and wanted to visit our dad who is buried in Plano, so we took a sentimental trip through the area and when he realized he remembered dad taking us up there prob 40 yrs ago to show us. So we pulled onto Buck Nesson's farm and had a very enlightening exchange with Buck who very graciously allowed us passage after exchanging family histories. We had a nice walk through the property and captured some great photos and relived memories of walking with dad 40 some yrs ago. Everything today seems very meant to be and interrelated with both sides of our family and friends as we visited my dad's favorite Aunt who is in hospice at her home and heard from several friends who's stories all seem to be intertwined from our pasts." — eriktthorson • Feb 5, 2016
"I was hiking with a friend when we came across an old memorial dedicated to the 300 Fox men, woman and children who were captured, tortured and murdered there by the French army in 1730. The memorial was placed there at the end of the 19th century but by the 1970's it was learned that the location was likely further South/East on the Fox river though no one knows for sure. They were the tribe the Fox river was named to commemorate." — John-McGowen • Nov 15, 2013
