12.1.19...Malpaís Flattop Mesa, AZ. 8.3 miles, 1,500’ gain in rough, barren, uneroded lava fields. I’ve noticed this large Mesa when traveling south from our area and hoped to climb it one day. (Jimmy tried to hide from me this morning but I found him!) It was a tough slog in this remote area but we were rewarded with superb views of the Colorado River. Jimmy was quiet on the way up, pretending he wasn’t annoyed that he was in the middle of nowhere and not chillin at home. It was a great way to end the Holiday and welcome in December.
