"We parked at White Moss car park to have an Amble up Loughrigg taking in Rydal Caves on the way and collecting a couple of geocaches hence the aimless meanderings of the GPS file.
Naturally our trip was not without mishap as my darling youngest child got rather ambitious when jumping over the stepping stones exiting Rydal cave and he fell in... past his butt... he was SOAKED. Soo whats a family to do with a wet and upset 8 year old before getting anyway near the summit?
No 1 hide him behind a rock to protect his modesty and ply him with chocolate while stripping him down. Other child was wearing base layer pants under his trousers so I promptly got him to give those up while I stuck my jumper on him We then realised the button had popped off so they were tethered with bungee cord.. While he was warming up Bear Grylls style we fashioned some socks out of plastic bags and forced the soaked walking boots back onto his feet all while letting him eat lunch. I then bundled the wet items into a bag and clipped it onto my rucksack to carry all the wet gear. It felt like I was carrying rock and every step I was hit in the butt!

"With Joanna and Trish. The weather was a bit humid/misty, and it rained when we hit the trig point. Dog **** in plastic bags everywhere spoiled it a bit. Why do people do this?
