Last day of a holiday based at Bassenthwaite. We decided to walk a circuit of 8 of these pleasant green & grassy hills. The 1st and lowest being Longlands Fell at 483m & the highest being Knott at 710m. We started & finished the circuit at Longlands village on the NW side of the hill. We left the village on a good track climbing gently around the base to Charleton Gill on the E side. We followed this track up & then moved onto the easy N ridge to the summit. Good views all around. We then continued over the summit to Lowthwaite Fell, then onto Brae Fell, Little Sca Fell, Great Sca Fell, Knott, Frozen Fell and finally Meal Fell, before descending through the gap of Trusmadoor to the valley and back to Longlands village.
From Longlands village, around the N spur to Charleton Gill, then up the N ridge to the summit2
