This was a 6.65 mile hike with 1995 feet of elevation gain starting from the staging area at Pine Valley Road. There is a new trail now that makes this a much easier hike than when you used to have to bushwhack, but it still is plenty steep in parts. Temps got plenty hot later in the day, but I got up and down again by 1100. I was Geocaching and stopped for 19 caches along the way (FTF x 7), so my moving/total time is not very impressive (2:47/3:39). Great hike, though, and LOTS of other caches nearby on the Bear Valley Loop and Corral Canyon.
