"Meikle Pap is a smaller outlying peak on the Lochnager range. It gives good views across the mountain loch to the cliffs on Lochnagar's 2 main peaks of Cac Carn Mor and Cac Carn Beag. We climbed up from the NE end of Loch Muick to the top of the pass at 700m, then W up to the mountain loch and up steeply onto the rocky summit. It was a hot sunny blue sky day, with extensive views around the Cairngorm mountains and way beyond. We dropped back down to the loch, then continued up onto another 3 of the summits on the Lochnagar massif, before dropping down the Glas allt past several waterfalls to SW end of Loch Muick and a pleasant lochside walk and dip back to our start point." — davidlong • Jul 7, 2013
"Cairngorm Club meet. With two friends. From Spittal of Glenmuick to Meikle Pap. Very little snow until 700m level reached. Then down to col and up Ladder, which was slightly tricky due to high wind and icy patches. Ascending into mist, which however lifted as we reached the top of the Ladder to reveal good views especially of snow covered White Mounth. Then into mist again as we ascended towards Cac Carn Mor. What had been rain before reaching Meikle Pap became hail driven hard by the wind. Descended NW and then N down steep slopes, icy and with some hard snow to Meall Coire na Saobhaidhe. Continued to Conachcraig." — peter43 • Jan 15, 1983
"With my children Katherine and Jonathan. From Spittal of Glenmuick to Meikle Pap, Cac Carn Mor, and Cac Carn Beag. Return via Glas-allt-Shiel. Snow, slight at the Spittal, deep higher up. It was clear but there was mist on the mountains to the west." — peter43 • Oct 19, 1980
