Approached from northeast on county road 153 via Hwy 380 and Fite Ranch. Approx 20 miles total to reach roadblock 1 mile east of foothills. Beyond this, the closed CAA road is completely washed out 3 to 4 ft deep - thus the closure. Hiking past boundary fence, road is still visible and climbs to dead-end in a shallow canyon. From there it's a steep scramble to a small mine prospect pit in a black outcrop just below the summit ridge. *This was the site of El Paso-to-Pueblo Airway beacon 14, from early 40's to early (?) 50s. From here, two USGS survey markers are along the ridge 100 yards to the south.
