"The main goal today was to ride with Richard down to the Colorado River in his 4Runner, so he could see this awesome, scenic road! Along the way, we stopped to do Little Hands Peak. I took a different route than the one I had planned out, but they both would have worked. This was mostly class 2, with some easy class 3 near the summit. Richard wasn't feeling great, so he, Amber & Luna stopped short of the peak while I continued on. " — Kevin • Feb 12, 2022
"2.3.2021~Aztec Mountain & Little Hands (twin) Peaks, Ireteba Peak Wilderness, NV, Solo. 7 miles, 2,500’ gain. I don’t think these peaks see any visitors. I chose to do them “Grand Canyon style” by dropping down from above to avoid the cholla forest the approach from Nelson would have. Pretty day. Route finding was fun. I did some Jeep road scampering, class 2+ gully & ridge whompin’, shorty class 3’s here and there and scrambling on the granite boulders of all sizes. I had a short bouldering route puzzle to figure out on a portion of the descent of the last peak. Gorgeous chaotic and colorful views were my reward. The spot I parked was pretty but was littered with spent gun casings so I was honored to clean it all up when I was done my workout. I filled 3 grocery bags full of gun trash and some alcohol cans. This area had given me so much joy as of late, I was happy to fix what others had trashed. I was being a free spirit with my route so I’m sure there may be a better (or worse) way so use track at your own risk. I liked it tho. " — paula.raimondi • Feb 3, 2021
