"Geologically, this is an amazing hike. The views are absolutely amazing. I think this is a very underrated hike. I parked at the observatory. From the Sister to Jefferson, everything was out today. " — puddlepirate • Jul 2, 2020

"Starting at the Pacific Crest Trailhead at McKenzie Pass, the trail is, almost entirely, craggy lava rocks. Not sure of the distance; took me 1.5 hours to the summit. A little rough to walk on, but worth it for the views of the alien-like, lava-covered landscape as well as the views of the multitude of surrounding mountains. Don't trip, it will hurt." — mikefleming • Jul 30, 2016
