2nd time I've climbed up the face of the rock, but the first time to actually stand on top. What a wonderful piece of Granite, truly. We hiked up the climber's trail, broke off to traverse to the base of White Maiden's walkway, then climbed the route with a couple variations. The Gaines guidebook says we may have done "Maiden's Direct". It was fantastic, but I was SUPER cold on the first pitch. I couldn't feel my fingers! Got better after that but the wind really picked up. Our summit shots just show us squinting against the wind. We may have gotten the last climb up White Maidens before the snow moved in. The very next day, there was 10" of snow on top.
