"In translation, "the tops", these hills sit to the north of Campo di Montelanico. There's about three significant rises here, the highest being the most southern at 836m. Easily reachable by a wide dirt track that extends beyond the asphalt of Via Collemezzo. I parked a little beyond the asphalt and walked up the road. This looks like it is passable to normal vehicles all the way to the plain, as I saw several normal cars coming down. Lots of people out mushroom picking. At the south east of the hill, where the road levels off, I cut in along a rough path, making my way to the rocky top, where there is a large oak tree at the highest point. The oak here has long elongated leaves. Cut more directly back to road on return. Some brambles and undergrowth but nothing too bad." — vygodski • Oct 12, 2024
