Forest Road 11 crosses the west side of the mountain only a few hundred feet from the summit. I drove a little further to where the map shows an unmarked forest road going around the northside of the mountain. While that road still exists its not drivable so I parked on it just off FR-11. I hiked up the slope in a SE direction to gain access to the north shoulder. Summit log in a jar. A note about FR-11. The road surface changes at 36.3110, -106.7405. FR-11 goes left but the sign is not visible until you make the turn. I drove right by it not realizing it. This section of FR-11 requires a high-clearance vehicle at a minimum assuming dry road conditions.
